Secure Socket Layer, Virtual Private Networks and return on investment

The current state of affairs in the world of information security is that companies have spent a lot of time analyzing various options for remote access to their information systems. Many of them have begun with IPsec-based systems to interconnect different sites. It all seemed rather simple at first, but with increases in the number of sites (and clients) that needed to be interconnected, scalability and interfacing problems began to emerge.

<itunes:summary>The current state of affairs in the world of information security is that companies have spent a lot of time analyzing various options for remote access to their information systems. Many of them have begun with IPsec-based systems to interconnect different sites. It all seemed rather simple at first, but with increases in the number of sites (and clients) that needed to be interconnected, scalability and interfacing problems began to emerge. Many companies then tried to scale (or actually replace) IPsec with the point-to-point tunnelling protocol (PPTP), but two problems came up. One was inadequate tunnel security, and the other was difficulty in selecting permission and access types after the connection had been established. PPTP in particular caused serious problems in terms of intrinsic security, with repercussions on daily operations.</itunes:summary>

Thanks to this approach, users can investigate a system much easier. PTK forensics is an alternative advanced framework for the TSK suite (The Sleuth Kit). Born as a free interface in order to improve the features already present in ‘Autopsy Forensic Browser’ (the former TSK interface), PTK Forensic is now much more. Thus, in addition to providing the features present in the 'Autopsy Forensic Browser' it now implements numerous new essential forensic features. PTK forensics is more than just a new graphic and highly professional interface based on Ajax and other advanced technologies; it offers many features such as analysis, search and management of complex digital investigation cases. Here you have a general description of our framework.</itunes:summary>

We examine these critical areas of Human Resources and Risk Management from a historical perspective and conclude with an analysis of regulatory benchmarks.</itunes:summary>

Application Delivery: pros and cons both virtual and real

The Client-Server model is currently in decline, giving way to the Application Delivery (AD) paradigm.<br />
AD is now a well established, if not physiological, need in high level organizations. However, there is a latent risk that certain fundamental aspects may be overlooked.<br />
This risk is associated with various factors, including the ever-present quest to cut costs and the need to speed up rollout of business support solutions. Thus, there are some important issues to keep in mind in order to prevent a series of potential problems.<br />
In this podcast we talk about some of them.<br /><br />
